Joe Namath’s Net Worth (Updated 2022) | Inspirationfeed

Who is Joe Namath?

Joe Namath is one of the most iconic quarterbacks in gridiron football history. He began his career in the Alabama crimson tide football program, playing college football for the university. Namath performed impressively during his college football years, going as far as guiding Alabama university to a national championship win. He excelled at the highest level of college football, which paved the way for the rest of his professional career.

Unsurprisingly, the New York Jets picked Namath first overall during the 1965 AFL draft. This was when gridiron football had two significant leagues; the national football league and the American football league. Namath’s impressive performance at Alabama university all but secured him a spot on the New York Jets roster.

Under the banner, he went on to do remarkable things in the American Football League. He led the New York Jets to victory in the AFL championship, their only win to date.

Namath didn’t stop there. There was a clear division between the AFL and the NFL back then. NFL teams looked down on their AFL counterparts, and not much was expected from them. However, Namath silenced all the doubts during the 1969 Superbowl, where he boldly claimed that the Jetts would win.

This came as a surprise to many, as the Jets were the underdogs of that particular tournament. Nevertheless, the Jets put on a stellar performance and beat the NFL’s Baltimore Colts to secure their first and only Superbowl victory.

Lessons from the Life of Joe Namath

Project Confidence

“When you have confidence, you have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things.”

~Joe Namath

Confidence can be challenging to pull off, but the benefits are easy to see. People are naturally drawn to confidence, and it can help bolster your self-esteem. Ultimately, it’s easier to focus on what you are doing when you are less concerned about what the people around you think.

It all begins creating the right state of mind. Ignore the negatives and focus on the positives. And don’t forget to enjoy the ride.

Determine Your Direction

“To be a leader, you have to make people want to follow you, and nobody wants to follow someone who doesn’t know where he is going.”

What do you aim to achieve in the coming years? Once you know this, it’ll be easier to stay on the right path and gather like-minded people along the way.
